Make a difference

Harmony and St. Cloud high schools again will participate in national Make A Difference Day Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Students from the schools will collect donations at St. Cloud area Winn-Dixie and Publix supermarkets to be delivered to the St. Cloud Food Pantry.

The locations:

Winn-Dixie, Canoe Creek: St. Cloud High softball team, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Harmony High softball team, 1 to 5 p.m.

Publix, Canoe Creek: St. Cloud High girls basketball, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Harmony National Honor Society, 1 to 5 p.m.

Winn-Dixie, Narcoosee Road: Harmony High baseball, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Harmony Class of 2012, 1 to 5 p.m.

Publix, Narcoosee Road: Harmony High baseball, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Harmony High football: 1 to 5 p.m. Over the past five years, the schools have made $4,000 in cash donations to the Food Pantry in addition to several truckloads of food.

Gingerbread run

The Give Kids The World 5K Gingerbread Run is Nov. 5 at Give Kids the World Village at 210 S. Bass Road.

Registration begins at 6:30 a.m. The race begins at 8 a.m. Registration is $25 per participant and $10 per junior participant (aged 3-12) with each paying adult. A T-shirt is included with each registration. Participants are encouraged to raise a minimum of $100.
