Hopkins Heroes is currently collecting gently used uniform items – uniform skirts (all sizes), bottoms (pants, skirts, shorts), shoes and sweaters with zippers. Hopkins Heroes is also collecting hygiene product donations – shampoo and conditioner, body wash and soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste, deodorant and other essentials – all new. These items will go directly to families and local schools once school is back in session.
Drop off locations are Nutrition Zone (1100 Massachusetts Ave.), Hopkins Park (620 E. 17th St.) Furniture One (2750 E. Irlo Bronson Hwy.) and Living Well Health Center (4039 13th St.). If you cannot drop off, contact Stephanie at www.Hopkinsheroes.com to set up a convenient meet-up.
Hopkins Heroes will also be providing backpacks filled with school supplies and their community wide Back 2 School Bash on Saturday. Aug. 8. If you would like to donate supplies, school supply items can be dropped off at the locations listed above.
The next Meet Me at the Market Narcoossee (5354 Rambling Road) will be a food fest. Enjoy the best of Narcoossee food, sweets and more on Sunday, July 12 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free, and there is indoor seating too.
Sammy’s Birthday Bash takes place on Saturday, July 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the St. Cloud Civic Center. St. Cloud’s favorite sandhill crane will have an All-American carnival theme for his party featuring activities, giveaways, special visits from some of Sammy’s friends, birthday cake and more. The City of St. Cloud will hold a Connect Resources for Business Growth Event, presented by Truist Bank on Wednesday, July 22 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Cannery Park Building (801 Virginia Ave.) This free in-person event will provide information on improving cash flow and managing your finances, strategies to build and expand your business, understanding how to protect your business through proper planning and insurance and gain tools and resources you can apply right of way. The Interact Club of the St. Cloud Community, sponsored by the Rotary Club of St. Cloud, is excited to welcome members and prospective members (parents and guardians are encouraged to attend) to the first meeting of the new Rotary year on Tuesday, July 21 from 6-7 p.m. at the American Legion Post 80 (1019 Pennsylvania Ave.). The Club provides an opportunity for students from homeschool programs, private schools, charter schools, virtual schools and other educational settings to come together in service. Light refreshments will be provided.
