Holiday time already — A Charlie Brown Christmas is coming

The holidays will be here before you know it and the RP Funding Center (formerly the Lakeland Center) is getting ready with A Charlie Brown Christmas Live!, coming to the stage Dec. 21.

Join Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus and the rest of the Peanuts gang as the uncover the true meaning of Christmas in the show.

A Charlie Brown Christmas Live! On Stage is a fresh take on the classic that gives the audience a completely new way of experiencing the storyline as portrayed by actors who maintain the integrity and spirit of each Peanuts character.

From a press release: This Emmy and Peabody award-winning story by Charles M. Schulz has been a longstanding tradition, warming the hearts of millions of fans since it first aired on television over 50 years ago. Now, this live on stage adaptation of the classic animated television special brings all your favorite characters to life – all set to the unforgettable sounds of the Vince Guaraldi musical score.

A Charlie Brown Christmas Live! On Stage encompasses favorite scenes from the original animated television show. It even expands the storyline into greater detail with more fun, more music, more finding the true Christmas spirit exploding into a celebration of song as the audience is invited to join the Peanuts gang in singing Christmas favorites.

Also at the center, 97.5 WPCV and Window World are proud to present the 2nd ‘Concert for the Kids’ to benefit St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Wednesday, Sept. 13, at 7:30 p.m. featuring Lee Brice, Jerrod Niemann, Carly Pearce, Frankie Ballard, and one other artist to be named later. All net ticket sales will go directly to St Jude, as part of WPCV’s association with the “Country Cares for St. Jude” program.

WPCV has hosted an annual Radiothon to benefit the hospital since 2004, raising over $2.2 million for the organization. In their continued effort to raise funds, WPCV hosted the first “Concert for the Kids” in 2016, raising over $10,500. Spring boarding off the success of the first year, they decided to move to a larger, seated venue, which led them to the Youkey Theatre at RP Funding Center.

Ticket prices are $21 in advance and $32 at the door (service charges may apply).
