Hispanic Heritage Month exhibit invitation

The city of Orlando invites artists to exhibit their art pieces in commemoration of Hispanic Heritage Month. The exhibition will be opened at the Orlando City Hall Tuesday, Sept. 5, at 5:30 p.m. and will be extended through Friday, Oct. 13. The deadline to submit images and documents will be on Wednesday, Aug. 16, at 5 p.m. and those selected must submit their art pieces to the Mayor’s Office on Wednesday, Aug. 30, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For information on requirements, contact Charles Beasley, public art coordinator, at: charles.beasley@cityoforlando.net.

Tertulia Cuatro Gatos

Tertulia Cuatro Gatos (Four Cats) invites the public to enjoy an informal evening with talented Hispanic exponents of reading, poetry, music, theater and other arts. Everyone is welcome Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Poinciana Library, and on Monday, Aug. 14, same time, at Buenaventura Lakes Library, Multipurpose Room, 405 Buenaventura Blvd., Kissimmee.

Farruko in Orlando

Puerto Rican urban music singer Farruko arrives in Orlando for the second time with his TrapXficante USA Tour. Farruko will perform at the House of Blues Orlando Friday at 8:30 p.m.

Family Fair at Heritage Park

Telemundo Family Fair will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Osceola Heritage Park. There will be fun for the whole family, health screenings, haircuts for children, tastings, playground, seminars, live music and more. Guest performers will be Dominican merengue singer Milly Quezada, N’Klabe, and for kids, the Atención Atención Music Band. Osceola Heritage Park is at 1875 Silver Spur Lane in Kissimmee. Cost is free for the event and for parking.

Citizenship classes

Discover the process of becoming a U.S. citizen and prepare for the citizenship interview and exam. These citizenship classes are will be Monday and Aug. 21 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Hart Memorial Central Library Roseada Room, 211 E. Dakin Ave., Kissimmee.

English lessons

Improve your English language skills with reading, listening comprehension, and grammar instruction for real-life situations. English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) lessons for beginners will be Monday and Aug. 21 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Hart Memorial Central Library, Roseada Room, 211 E. Dakin Ave., Kissimmee.
