Deputies seek battery suspect in Poinciana case

Posted on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 11:23 am

Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies are still searching for a suspect involved in an aggravated battery early Friday morning in Poinciana.

At approximately 1 a.m., deputies responded to a residence on Delido Way in Poinciana and spoke with the victim who indicated she was in her driveway getting in her vehicle when she felt someone grab her from behind. The suspect battered the victim as she was trying to get away.

She was able to run to the front of the house and ran to a neighbor’s house to call for help. On a 911 call released by Sheriff’s officials this week, the victim said the assailant took her keys and phone. When asked by a dispatcher if she had any way to describe her attacker she said, “All I know is it was dark out here.”

The victim also said she was “cut by something” in the attach, and was transported to Poinciana Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a dark skinned male, approximately 5 feet, 9 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office at (407) 348-2222 or Crimeline at (800) 423-TIPS (8477). Calls made to Crimeline remain anonymous, and tips that lead to the felony arrest of suspects and/or the recovery of stolen property and drugs are eligible for cash rewards of up to $1,000.
