    5. Central Florida Community Arts Presents Together in Harmony @ Oak Ridge High School
      7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

There is a journey of discovery when a child learns music. It starts with a single note… Maybe a bang or toot, a pluck or wobbly tone. From there, the sky is the limit! Creativity and imagination are realized through sound. With dedication and practice, those notes are slowly refined into melody and rhythm. A simple song leads to a brilliant dance. That basic tune over time transforms into a complex concerto. From playing with friends to performing in full symphonies. When children become artists in music, it all comes together in perfect harmony… You will be amazed as some of the most talented young instrumentalists and singers from across Central Florida come together to perform their first concert of the season.

General Admission tickets are $10 each, and children age 12 and under will be admitted for free. Tickets may be purchased online or by calling the CFCArts Box Office at 407-937-1800 x 710.

      7:30 pm – 9:30 pm

BlackOGCLogo-NEW-20161ORLANDO “The Orlando Gay Chorus (OGC) will be wishing the audience” Glad Tidings’ when it presents its annual holiday concert on Dec. 10 and 11 at The Plaza Live, 425 N. Bumby Ave., Orlando.

“This concert is an excellent blend of holiday music,” said Artistic Director and Conductor James Rode. “We will be presenting classics, pop and multicultural musical selections. It will be a great way to get into the holiday spirit!”

Have you ever wondered what you would do with “3 French Hens” or “10 Lords a Leaping?” Listen carefully when the chorus sings a hilarious version of an old classic called “The Twelve Days After Christmas.” Other musical selections include “Gloria a Dios,” “While the Snow Lay Sleeping,” “Funky Dreidl,” “Mary Did You Know,” “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “Oh Christmas Tree” and much more.

“We’re very excited for us to share Gloria a Dios with our audience,” Rode said. “This is a fun, uptempo number sung in Spanish which will feature a lively pas de deux from our OGC dance team.”

All four OGC ensembles — Nothin’™ But Treble, Spectrum, Ménage and OUTLOUD! also will sing.

Associate Artistic Director Harold Wright will conduct several songs. Sue Glerum will be the principal accompanist. Choreography (and “choral-ography”) will be directed by Dwight Shropshire and Talia Raymond. The “Glad Tidings” concert will feature a chamber orchestra consisting of 12 musicians.

American Sign Language interpretation will be presented by Prof. Debbie Drobney and her students from Valencia College.

Concert times are 7:30 p.m. Dec. 10 and 4:30 p.m. Dec. 11. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door and student tickets are $10 in advance or at the door. Early seating is an additional $5 per ticket. Advance tickets are available from any chorus member or at www.orlandogaychorus.org.
