Managing invasive plants meeting July 31

Managing invasive plants in the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes is the topic of a July 31 public meeting hosted by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC).   • Boaters warned about low lake levels

    Due to low lake levels on Osceola County lakes, boaters are advised to use caution, county officials announced. Water levels are particularly shallow on Lake Jackson, 2 feet deep or less in many areas.   • Police to conduct car seat checks

    Members of the Kissimmee Police Department’s Traffic Enforcement Unit will be at local businesses this weekend conducting car seat checks. In an effort to build awareness of the upcoming Click It or Ticket Campaign, the Traffic Enforcement Unit will be at Walmart and K-Mart this weekend inspecting car seats to ensure they have been installed correctly.
