St. Cloud man arrested in stabbing of stepfather
The St. Cloud Police Department is continuing its investigation of a stabbing in the Montague Village Subdivision Sunday afternoon.
Norman Miguel Torres, 22, was arrested and charged with attempted felony murder and domestic violence after police reports say he went after his stepfather with a knife.
Shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon, police responded to a report on Barco Court in St. Cloud. Family members informed police that Torres stabbed the victim multiple times with a knife following an argument then fled while discarding the knife and his t-shirt. Officers immediately established a perimeter and, with the assistance of a K-9 canine unit located and apprehended Torres. Officers also recovered evidence of the crime, the police report said,
The victim suffered multiple stab wounds to his back and abdomen area and was transported to a local hospital for treatment of what police called non-life threatening injuries. Torres was initially transported to St. Cloud Police Department for questioning, but was later transported to St. Cloud Hospital after complaining of not feeling well. He was eventually sent to the Osceola County Jail where he is being held on zero bond.
Detectives continue to investigate the case. SCPD spokesperson Denise Roberts said a 911 phone call will be made available later.
