2 arrested in Kissimmee pot bust
A pair of Kissimmee men were arrested Thursday for holding and selling marijuana as police seized over five pounds of the drug.
The Kissimmee Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit arrested Roberto Sarge, 31, and Ariel Lopez, 23, and charged them with possession with intent to sell cannabis within 1,000 feet of a church and manufacture, sale or delivery of drug paraphernalia.
The Street Crimes Unit was patrolling Thursday near a home on Aruba Court, where police had previously identified as a location where narcotics have been sold from, KPD spokesperson Stacie Miller said. Detectives noticed a Hispanic male, later identified as Sagre walk into the backyard of the location and meet up with Lopez. Police said Sagre left the area, within minutes of talking with Lopez, driving his vehicle without wearing a seatbelt and they conducted a traffic stop. During the traffic stop a K-9 dog alerted that narcotics were possibly in the vehicle. Detectives searched the vehicle and found 4.8 pounds of marijuana in the trunk.
Detectives returned to the Aruba Court home to speak with Lopez. At the residence, detectives received consent his mother, to search the residence. During the search, detectives located a duffle bag containing 240 grams of marijuana.
Sagre and Lopez were transported to the Osceola County Jail where by Friday afternoon Sarge had bonded out but Lopez was held on $11,000 bond.
