The Great Florida Shootout returns for its 33rd edition at a new site and with new dates.
The eight-team tournament will be played at Osceola High, where it originated in 1981, Jan. 2-4.
The Kissimmee Rotary Club, the event’s long-time sponsor, is not officially sponsoring the event this year, but Rotary member and past tournament chairman Pete Edwards said several Rotarians will assist Osceola High Coach Nate Alexander in putting on the event.
First round games Jan. 2 have Gateway taking on No. 6 Class 8A South Miami, a Shootout bracket champion last year, at 7 p.m. Winter Haven plays Miami Pace at 5:30 p.m., Tampa Chamberlain meets Windermere Prep at 4 p.m. and host Osceola takes on Rockledge at 8:30 p.m.
Games begin all three days at 4 p.m. with the championship game set Jan. 4 at 8:30 p.m.
Tickets are $7, $20 for a tournament pass.
