Kissimmee man arrested for sex with minors in group home
Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies arrested an employee at an Osceola County group home for having sex with three underage girls staying at the home.
Domingo Sanchez, 37, from Kissimmee, was charged with eight counts of sexual batter by custodian/victim 12 years old/under 18 years-old. He worked with his wife as a house parent at Key Haven, staying at the group home for days at a time feeding, driving, and supervising the children that lived there, according to Carrie Hoeppner, media spokesperson for Florida Department of Children and Families Central Region.
The Department of Children and Families received a call from their abuse hotline Thursday concerning Key Haven. After visiting the group home, the department contacted Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies. Once Sanchez was identified as the suspect, deputies met him at his residence and brought him to the Sheriff’s Office to be interviewed. Sanchez cooperated and told deputies that he had sex with three girls at the home, one 13 years-old and two 17 year olds, and that the encounters occurred on several occasions.
Hoeppner said that the house was licensed as a group home earlier this year and Sanchez passed the background screening prior to being hired as a house parent. As of this week, Sanchez is no longer employed by the organization facilitating Key Haven in Osceola County.
The victims were relocated to another home Thursday, and Florida Department of Children and Families is currently focusing on the needs of the children left at Key Haven.
Sanchez was arrested and booked into the Osceola County Jail. This investigation is ongoing.
