It didn’t take very long for the Hogwarts Express to get its millionth rider.
The train at Universal Orlando Resort celebrated rider No. 1 million with free Butterbeer ice-cream for everyone, well at least everyone that was lucky enough to be at the Hogsmeade Station. Potter fans whooped it up and showed off their certificates for the sweet treat, after Universal officials announced the magical milestone.
The Hogwarts Express is the iconic train that transported Harry Potter and his friends between Hogsmeade Station and King’s Cross Station in J.K. Rowling’s series of books and films. Nearly two hundred guests were given complimentary Butterbeer ice-cream.
In early July, guests began boarding the Hogwarts Express to travel between The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade in Universal’s Islands of Adventure and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley in Universal Studios Florida. The incredible journey, which requires a park-to-park ticket, combines powerful storytelling, live special effects, lifelike animation and state-of-the-art technology.
