The investigation began in June when detectives identified a computer with an IP address that was linked to child pornography. After further investigation, detectives located it at Mercado’s Tradewinds Drive residence in Kissimmee.

Early Thursday, detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence and took Munix-Mercado’s computer with more than 200 child pornography images and video into evidence. The suspect was home and cooperated with the investigation. Based on his statements and the evidence, he was arrested and booked into the Osceola County Jail, where he remained as of Friday morning on $50,000 bond. The investigation is on-going, with additional charges pending.
