Interfaith Community Centre’s Rev. Jeddie and Rev. Elma King are hosting a back to school giveaway event on Saturday for families in need of school supplies for the 2017-18 school year.
“We have been giving back to our community for many years,” said Elma King. “However, we began this event about three years ago.”

notebooks, binders, uniforms, backpacks and more.
“We mainly do everything from our own pockets,” said Elma King, who believes in the importance of building a strong community.
“True love is what builds a stronger community,” she said. “True love is when you give and give and continue to give without expecting any direct returns.”
While the event was created to aid families in need, Elma King hopes it will build excitement for students to go back to school. A backyard barbecue will include free, grilled hamburgers and hotdogs, rides, music and dancing.
Students of all ages are welcome to attend but must be accompanied by an adult.
The giveaway will run from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Interfaith Community Centre, 1513 Central Ave. in Kissimmee. All items will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis.
To register for the event or to find out more information, call Rev. Elma King or Rev. Jeddie King at 407-846-8256.
