Posted on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 1:24 pm

Everyone loves a parade and this years should not disappoint. The Association of Poinciana Villages (APV) is wrapping up the year with a holiday celebration. The 25th Annual Christmas Parade and Celebration will be held Saturday, Dec. 9, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Vance Harmon Park, 695 Country Club Drive in Poinciana.

This family-friendly event is free for APV residents and the public to enjoy. The parade will run from Vance Harmon Park along Cypress Parkway back to Vance Harmon Park.

“Float entries continue to pour in, and APV is expecting a huge turnout this year,” said Mark Maldonado, APV general manager.  “We invite everyone in Poinciana to join us for this exciting holiday celebration.”

Immediately following the parade there will be a Christmas celebration, including a Battle of the Bands featuring local high school marching bands, bounce houses, food trucks, live music and dancing and more. Santa Claus will also make a special appearance at the festival via the Poinciana Express Train and will be available for photo opportunities. Live holiday dance music will be provided by the Nova Jazz Band of Disney fame. In addition, the event’s emcee will be Poinciana’s favorite Disney celebrity, Carol Saragusa.

Parking will be provided off-site at the Activity Campus, 445 Marigold Ave. and the grassy lot behind Walgreens also on Marigold Avenue. Shuttles will be provided to transport attendees to and from the event site.

Time is running out to actually be in the parade. Companies and organizations have the opportunity to enter a float to participate in the Christmas parade. There is no cost to enter a float but holiday decorations are required. Table rentals are also available for businesses and organizations to show Poinciana residents appreciation or to introduce themselves to the community. To enter a float or reserve a space at the celebration, contact Eldonia Rodriguez at 863-427-0900 ext. 502 or Eldonia.rodriguez@fsresidential.com.
